The Gamble Garden in Palo Alto has a tremendous variety of flowers and plants. It has a historic home, a carriage house, tea garden, formal and demonstration gardens. One can usually find photographers and artists with their easels comfortably painting from the shade.

The San Jose Rose Garden is a delight. There are roses of every imaginable color and fragrance. The best time photograph is early in the morning, before the wind picks up and the sun hits the blooms. With my tripod, macro lens, and reflector, it’s like being in a beautiful outdoor studio!
